Quotes: Eliot + Emerson

"In order to arrive at what you do not know
You must go by a way which is the way of ignorance.
In order to possess what you do not possess
You must go by the way of dispossession.
In order to arrive at what you are not
You must go through the way in which you are not.
And what you do not know is the only thing you know
And what you own is what you do not own
And where you are is where you are not."
-- T.S. Eliot, East Coker, part 3

"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little coarse, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice? Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Eliot is one of my favourite quotes - I had it on my studio wall for a while, and also stitched it into an art piece.

You write a very interesting blog.
